I’m John Ernst a fine art photographer from Fairfax, Virginia that specializes in landscape and nature photography. As the son of a professional photographer my passion for the art began earlyin life. I first started using my father's Pentax film cameras at the age of 7 to photograph race cars at the local racetrack. After high school my first job was working in a one-hour photo lab and my love of photography has continued since. Currently whenever I get the chance to escape the desk of my full-time job I can be found hiking national and local parks chasing sunsets, waterfalls and wildlife. I’ve also found myself being drawn to scenes with cool trees and funky barns. I strive to showcase the beauty and wonder of nature and hope to capture photographs that translate the mood and feeling of a scene to the viewer..
